ACEM Lab is allocated at the Centro de Extensión Los Canelos building of the Universidad Austral de Chile in the city of Valdivia. It is a room on the fourth floor consisting of 6.8 x 4 meters and 2.6 meters high. Now it is under study to be acoustically conditioned so it can allocate an 8.1 sound system in a first stage. The purpose of the system is to allow listening session for analysis of spatial works, spatial composition projects both for electroacoustic music and sonic art pieces and teaching these topics for undergraduate and postgraduate students. A residency program is expected to be developed in subsequent stages of the project.
